Who Needs School When You Have NYC

Last Wednesday I skipped school, took a bus and headed to the city(I'm a real badass like that). I went to see a broadway play! I went with my stepmom and stepgrandma to see, "On the 20th Century". It was a short play but it was hilarious, I didn't expext it to be so funny! Kristen Chenoweth was the main actress in the musical but I didn't know she acted in movies as well as plays, I didn't even know she could sing! Anyway, after the play we walked to Time Square and just did some site seeing, it was a much needed day off. We even hit the Shake Shack for lunch which is always delicious!

Who Said AP Exams Can't Be Fun!?

Sooo...AP's have been pretty stressful lately, along with it being the end of the year. With that said a big group of us decided to take a little spontaneous trip! Wyatt, Emily, Brian, Garret and I all went to Taft Heights park and just messed around like the little kids we are. Of course, Brian and Garret took their shirts off cause clothes tend to just fall off of them, we made fun of Wyatt because of how he runs and I picked Garret's hair pretty much the whole time! We all tossed around a frisbee after me and Em decided Moes and swings aren't a good mix and of course someone got hit with the frisbee, promise I wasn't the one who hit anyone! But Brian tried to get me to wrestle him and i just wasn't ready for it and that'll we'd have to settle it over the weekend. Anyway, this little trip was by far one of my favorites just because of the good vibes from the park and people I was with, we are without a doubt the epitome of fun:)

Afton One Day and Adventures at the Creek the Other!

On Saturday I was in Afton all day working for my grandparents. Altough I was doing work all day it was nice to get away for a while. My grandparents house is the one place for me where I can just relax. Everyone has their own little sanctuary where they feel at peace, mine is my grandparents house. It's all open land with woods in the very back of their property and it's hard not to appreciate how beautiful it always looks! Then on Sunday Brian, Wyatt and I went to the creek at a park near Brian's house. The creek is like the bro hangout and i'm surprised they took me there. As usually
Harris went onto some guys property to look at the barn and "explore" it, really he was just being dumb but that's besides the point. So me and Wyatt left him there so he could get in trouble on his own. After we were done at the creek we hit the dollar store because we wanted cake but they didn't have what we wanted so we went back to my house and hungout outside with my little brother, which adding another bou to the mix caused more trouble, but no surprise there! I really have learned that you don't have to travel half way across the globe to have fun and let lose, i love just hanging out with friends and family and creating our own little adventures!

Third Day Concert in Albany!

Around 4 on Saturday my mom picked me up from Binghamton so we could be on our way to Albany for a concert! We saw Thrid Day, which my moms favorite Christian rockband, at the Palace Theater. The theater was gorgeous but the concert was even better! Christain rock is not my favorite but the concert was so full of life that you had no choice but to enjoy yourself. I had seen the same band 5 years ago at Creation 2010 and i enjoyed seeing them again because this time I'll remember it better. It was nice to see my family happy that night and seeing them happy made me happy. Even though we didn't get home till about 2 in the morning it was still a good time and i'll always remember it:)

Dantè and I have the same smile too!

The Urda Farm!

Yesterday was the first nice day we've had around here since this project began so i decided to venture outside! My dad, my stepmom and I headed up to Windsor to visit my Uncle Alex on his little farm. When we got there to my surprise there was a baby goat, who was about 2 weeks old! It was adorable, and after visitng the goats we messed around in a little pond with my uncles 2 kids, Eli and Seneca. We were trying to catch salamanders. My uncles dad, Jerry, was there too tending to all the syrup he still had to boil. After visiting the farm we headed to down town Windsor to see the new bulding my uncle had just purchased. This building is massive!! It had been an old church/day care and had a basement, 1st floor, second floor and an attic. They're going to renevate the buliding so my uncle can work in it and also rent some of the rooms out to tenants. We also visited my aunts seamstress shop nextdoor, its honestly adorable. All in all it was nice to see the family and get outside for once to enjoy all the sunshine:)

Corning Glass Museum

Spent all day Sunday at the Corning Glass Museum with my stepmom and my dad playing like little kids. Didn't realize all the neat sciencey gadgets the museum teaches you about and that you can even make your own glass piece, which I did and it looks fabulous! However, i've come to a realization...traveling is only a temporary stress reliever. It's hard to keep that happy go lucky, positive attitude after you've come home from your adventures. But, i've also realized that it's hard to not be stressed when you have a life that needs living. So I'm ok with the temporary relief, it makes me feel good! Makes me feel free and makes me restore my faith in humanity in someway. That's why these little meaningless trips are so much more than what they seem:)

NYC Bishhh ;)

This weekend was amazing! I ended up taking a trip to New York City with Emily Mackay because she had Nationals at the Armory on Saturday. We left on Friday since we didn't have school  and stayed at the Double Tree Hotel by Hilton on the corner of Lexington and 51st Street. We spent most that night in Time Square till about midnight then went back to the hotel. Saturday we pretty much spent the whole day at the Armory which is on the West side of Manhattan. The Armory is AMAZING, it is absolutely gorgeous. Inside there are 4 floors; the 1st floor had all the check in areas including a free barber shop, the 2nd floor had a new balance attire store and a warm up hallway for the athletes, the 3rd floor was how you got onto the actual track (which is banked by the way) with a huge all way where everyone was bumping to kick ass music the whole time trying to get pumped for whatever event they are accustomed too, and finally the 4th floor is where you got to watch! Seeing Emily run so me so hype, we were all yelling and screaming for her and she ended up doing very well. Then on Sunday we spent the day in Time Square, did a ton of shopping and had fun with each other, it was a blast!

Movie Date :)

So I forgot to blog last week...whoops. Anyhow, I was supposed to go to Syracuse this weekend but it started snowing and we didn't know how long it was going to snow so we ended up not going at all. Sad story, but my dad and I ended up having a movie date instead! I kinda love how all these little trips I'm taking turn into little dates:) So we went to go see Chappie at Regal Cinemas and I swear we were the most obnoxious people in there. Before the movie started we were laughing and taking pictures and of course my dad was trying to take pictures of us and it just wasn't working our for him lol. His flash was so bright and he was trying to be all fancy but he really just doesn't  know how to use his phone, it was hilarious! That little date made my whole day and we were still laughing and joking around even after the movie.
Had an odd obsession with the tower of popcorn buckets.

B-Sens Game!

So this week I pretty much discovered that spontaneous trips work ten times better for me than planning them. Just as long as I still have my list of places that I would like to go, which I still do, I can do whatever I want! I can only do this because my family is just as happy as I am about doing this project and it makes it easier for me to talk to them about it. On Friday my friend Gina and I went to the Binghamton Senators hockey game at the Arena in Binghamton and of course the best part of the game was seeing our most favorite teacher ever, Mrs. Krieger! We both had not been to a hockey game in years and it was honestly a blast. Even though we lost, just being with my family and friends, feeling all their cheerful vibes is what made it for me:) I look forward to these trips now even more than I have been now that I know how happy I feel while in there but most importantly how happy we ALL are after!

Snowmobiling!!

Today was my first time ever snowmobiling and I can honestly say it was the most fun I've ever had!! My dad and his work partner, Cory, skipped worked today just to take me out. We went up to Cory's house which is in Brackney, PA, and went on all the trails he had worn down in the woods and in big fields. It's a funny sight seeing 3 fully grown men play with their big powerful toys, actually it's hilarious but easy to join in on their lighthearted attitudes. It got really cold at one point and we made a pit-stop at Tall Pines in Montrose to warm up and grab some drinks then we were back at it again. Must have been out for hours because I am soooooo sore right now and what hurts the most is my hands which is a weird place to be sore if you ask me. All in all though, it was nice being happy and being with people I love for a day. Days like these just bring out the best in everyone and it's these moments that are irreplaceable and I wouldn't trade them for the world:)  Not to mention, it was absolutely gorgeous outside!

Playing With The Old Camera

Since the weather is going to be kinda crapy for a while, i might have to hold off on the snowmobiling for a while, maybe sometime this week i will go instead of this weekend. On that note i decided to play around with this old camera my stepmom has in the closet. The camera was her grandpfathers and it is absolutley gorgeous! But, i have no idea how to use it, at all! I don't even know how to open the back so i can put film in it lol, i have my work cut out for me. So i started playing around with it and decided i would actually have to read the manuel in order to know what im doing. A few hours in and i feel like a pro, until i actually go to take pictures and forget everything I had read, so i definatly have some work to do but i'm having fun doing it:)

Jotting Down Traveling Ideas...or Trying To At Least

So I am finally putting some decent work into my project and with doing that I am also discovering a few things:
1. I suck at planning a trip, and following an Itinerary
2. There are SOOO many things and places I can incorporate into my project: popular restaurants, malls, museums, etc.
3. Time is everything, especially when you have a busy schedule like mine.

I'm sure i could come up with more realizations but these three will do good for now. The first one is what I'm concerned for the most. I am looking up places to go online and such and they sound really good but I feel like I won't end up doing what i plan ahead for. My trips will probably end up being very spontaneous and thrilling! My dad, my step mom and I once took a spur of the moment trip once. We were supposed to be in Ocean City for a week but instead we stayed for 2 days and ended up just driving! We found ourselves in Delaware, D.C, other places in Maryland and then in Baltimore. It was the most fun we had ever had on a family get away!

1st Post For My 20% Project

I'm wicked way excited to be starting this project, and although it hasn't officially started yet my mind is racing with thoughts about where I want to travel. A little background on my project; I decided I would like to travel for my project and document everything with my stepmom's old camera or my cellphone, and then put all these pictures into a scrap book. I have been thinking about how I am going to plan all this in an organized manner and I was thinking that I will plan trips a few weeks in advance or just kind of wing it sometimes and see where I get. I planned my idea for this project on the simply thought that I want to have fun! There is already so much stress in life as it is and having fun is a simply joy everyone seems to forget about know a days. Anyway, the above picture just shows that you really don't have to travel far to appreciate the simply beauties the world gives you. I took this photo just this morning from my bedroom window :) Let the fun begin!!!
